Nightmare (ナイトメア, Naitomea?) is a visual kei rock band from Japan. They enjoyed mainstream success with the inclusion of "The World" and "Alumina" in the anime series Death Note and are considered a major act in the ongoing visual kei scene.
Music style
Nightmare's band concept is Gianizm and this word occurs in many of their song titles. Gianizm is derived from Doraemon's character Gian. Gian's motto is "Omae no mono wa ore no mono. Ore no mono wa ore no mono." ("What's yours is mine, what's mine is mine.") Incidentally, this is also the name of the two 'best of' albums they had re-released their indies' songs on. However, the band has often ventured into new genres or styles, such as in "Naked Love' where they experiment with electronica, or "Masquerade and Konoha" where they experiment with ska and reggae.

NEWS (ニュース, Nyūsu?), is a six-member Japanese musical group consisting of Keiichiro Koyama, Ryo Nishikido, Tomohisa Yamashita, Takahisa Masuda, Shigeaki Kato and Yuya Tegoshi. The group's name is an acronym based on the cardinal directions (North, East, West, South) and the members locations. Formed in 2003 by Johnny Kitagawa as a nine member group under the label Johnny's Entertainment, NEWS released a promotional single "NEWS Nippon" (NEWS ニッポン, NEWS Japan?), which was used for the World Cup of Volleyball Championships. In 2004, Takahiro Moriuchi left the group and the remaining eight members released their debut single, "Kibō: Yell" (希望 ~Yell~, Hope ~Yell~?), which debuted atop the Oricon charts.
In 2006, the group released their fifth consecutive number-one single, "Sayaendō/Hadashi no Cinderella Boy" (サヤエンドウ/裸足のシンデレラボーイ, Peas/Barefoot Cinderella Boy?), as the current six-member group due to the controversy surrounding then-members Hiroki Uchi and Hironori Kusano. After a brief hiatus, they released their seventh number-one single, "Hoshi o Mezashite" (星をめざして, lit. Aim for the Stars?). In 2008, they released their tenth single, "Happy Birthday," which made NEWS the second Japanese group after label-mates KinKi Kids to have ten consecutive number-one singles since their debut.

Other works such as "Leech" and "Hyena" feature a hard rock sound. Alice Nine (アリス九號.?, or alicenine.) is a visual kei band, formed in 2004 and originally signed to PS Company, a sub-division of Free-Will. They were formerly signed to King Records until 2010. As of 2010, the band is signed to both PS Company and Tokuma Japan Communications in Japan, as well as to German label CLJ Records in Europe and has released three full-length records, along with several EPs, singles and DVDs.
Alice Nine's musical style can mainly be described as rock, with touches of pop, and a few instances of dance music. Their works range diversely, including heavier songs that were more prevalent in their early career, slow ballads and medium tempo songs, and the lighter rock sound marked with more melodic instrumentation and synthesizers that is present on their 2007 album, Alpha. As they progressed through the years, the band began releasing songs that focus more on appealing to the mainstream public.
The band's appearance and shift from a heavy visual kei look also took place over the length of their career. In early work, Alice Nine's clothing in promotional footage and live concerts was a stylized take on traditional Japanese clothing, along with moderate makeup, piercings, and bright hair colors such as red and pale blonde. However, in 2006, the look began to fade out and essentially disappeared the year after, having been replaced with leather and the onset of street fashion, clothing that would appeal to popular culture. Music videos for "Blue Planet" and "Gekkou Yoku" show off a relaxed and casual look, while videos such as those for "Cosmic World" and "Rainbows" are examples of forays

T-ara (Korean: 티아라; Korean pronunciation: ) is a South Korean girl group formed by Core Contents Media in 2009. Before their debut, there was a high level of interest in the group as they were called "Super Rookies" and had been training for three years prior to debut. Originally a five-member group, they released their first song "Good Person" for the soundtrack of the Korean drama Cinderella Man in April 2009. In June 2009 members Jiwon and Jiae left the group, delaying the group's debut. The next month, T-ara regrouped to become a six-member group with the addition of Boram, Qri, and Soyeon, and released their debut single "거짓말" ("Lies"). In July 2010, T-ara introduced a new member, Ryu Hwayoung, to become a seven-member group.
The original five T-ara members were trained for three years, and released their first song "좋은 사람" (Good Person) for the Korean drama Cinderella Man soundtrack. In early 2009, Jiyeon was in a collaboration with SeeYa and Davichi for project single called "여성시대" (Women's Generation).
In June 2009, Core Contents Media announced that Ji-ae and Ji-won left due to differences in music style. Soyeon, Boram and Qri were added. The group's agency began to release promotional pictures in July 2009 in accordance with the new members. Afterward, T-ara released their debut single "거짓말" (Lies).

SS501 (pronounced as Double-S Five-Oh-One or Deo Beul E Seu Oh Yeong Il (더블에스오영일) in Korean) is a popular South Korean boy band formed under the management of Daesung Entertainment, also known as DSP Entertainment. All the members of the group have subsequently left DSP Entertainment to different management companies, but they still intend to stay together as SS501. The name of the band is a combination of letters and numbers that have special meaning. The first “S” stands for “Superstar". The second “S” is an abbreviation for "Singer". The combination of 5, 0, and 1 symbolizes "five members united as one forever".
2005-2006: Debut
SS501 debuted on June 8, 2005 with their first single "Kyeonggo" (Korean: "경고", "Warning"), with a second single "Snow Prince" released in late 2005. The group was inactive in Korea for most of 2006, although they had a fan meeting in Japan in April of that year. The reason was due to Heo Young Saeng's throat condition which required a surgery, thus resulting in a need for time to fully recover. In mid-2006, they held their first successful concert, "Step Up Concert" in Osaka, Japan. In late 2006, they returned to Korea in order to promote their first full album, which was released on November 10 and titled S.T.01 Now. Singles from the album included "Unlock" and "Four Chance". As well as promoting the album on various variety and music shows, they also filmed a show on MNet called SOS. The group (except Heo Young Saeng, who was recovering from the sugery) also lent their voices for the 2006 animated movie Pi's Story.
2007-2008: Japanese activities, 'Boys Over Flowers', and Sub-unit
Later in 2007, the group debuted in the Japanese market. A Japanese fan club has been established with the name of "Triple S Japan"; it officially debuted on March 25, 2007, when SS501 had their first official meeting with the group. The group released their Japanese single "Kokoro", alongside multiple versions, including one with all members and five others featuring the members individually. The single debuted at #5 on the Oricon chart, and move to #3 the next day. A full album was released later that year. Then SS501 got the new comer award in Japan and this is the first time for Korean artist could get this award.
In 2008, SS501 returned to Korea with their single Deja Vu released on March 8, 2008. The title track was the first song to be promoted, and they began their comeback on music channel M.Net's M Countdown. After success with their single "Deja Vu", they began to promote their second single, "A Song Calling for You". They performed their Goodbye Stage on Music Bank on June 6, 2008, to return to Japanese activities.
On October 2, 2008, an official announcement confirmed that leader Kim Hyun Joong was part of the cast for the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango, officially named Boys Over Flowers. It was broadcast on KBS in the first half of 2009, with a total of 25 episodes and a few special episodes.
With both Park Jung Min (Danny Park on the musical Grease) and Kim Hyun Joong on solo activities, the next SS501 album was pushed back to July 2009. As such, the other three members formed a subunit with Heo Young Saeng as the leader and released a project album named U R Man in November 2008. The first single released was "U R Man". They also promoted their single for the Boys Over Flowers soundtrack, "Nae Meoriga Nabbaseo" (Korean: "내 머리가 나빠서", "Because I'm Stupid"). Due to the success of the drama, the song had a high number of downloads.
2009—2010: Mini albums, first Asian tour, and contract issues
SS501 released their official second Japanese album All My Love on May 13, 2009. A promotional tour was also held in Japan support of the album. They later released the album Solo Collection, consisting of the individual members' songs. Following its release, the members dissolved into their solo activities. They later reunite to embark on their first Asia tour, visiting Seoul, Tokyo, Taiwan, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
The group's mini album Rebirth was released in two part: a limited and a full edition. The former was released on the 20th of October with the latter on the 22nd. The limited special edition album included two posters and a 100 page photo diary. SS501 promoted the album with the single "Love Like This"; the song went on win two Music Bank awards and one Inkigayo Mutizen in November. Promotional activities for the album ended on November 29, 2009.
Kicking off 2010, SS501 held a concert in Thailand before holding their final concert in Seoul to conclude their Asia Tour. Although the release of their new mini album was planned to be on May 1, 2010 (a nod towards "501" in the group's name), the date was pushed back in order to "add finishing touches". They also performed at the 2010 Dream Concert later that month. Due to the fact that Kim Hyun Joong was still recovering from a previous injury, they sang two ballads instead of the rumored come back track. A day after their performance at the Dream Concert, one of their mini-album tracks, "Let Me Be The One" was leaked on the internet. Not long afterwards, the teaser for the comeback track was unveiled. The third mini album, "Destination", was finally released on May 24, 2010. Their first win for their title track "Love Ya" was during their second week of promotion in Music Bank, on June 11, 2010. They also took first place the following week. On June 18, 2010, Daesung Entertainment announced that SS501 would end their "Love Ya" promotions due to contract expiry with DSP on June 7, 2010.
Starting with the group's leader Kim Hyun Joong, majority of the members began to leave DSP Entertainment. Kim was the first to leave, signing with KeyEast Entertainment. This was followed by Park Jung Min to join CNR Media, Kim Hyung Jun for S-Plus Entertainment, and Heo Young Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong both signing with B2Ment. Although the members are under different companies, SS501 will retain its name and will still produce songs. All of the members' companies have stated that SS501's activities will be top priority in their contracts.
On October 2010, Kim Hyung Jun announced that SS501 will be back in early 2011 with a new album. Regardless, the members are working on their solo endeavors for the time being. Kim Hyun Joong wrapped up filming the drama Playful Kiss as Baek Seung Jo, the main male lead along with Jung So Min as Oh Ha Ni, the main female lead, meanwhile it was confirmed that members, Heo Young Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong will be holding fanmeetings in countries across Asia. Park Jung Min's comeback solo album Not Alone was originally supposed to be released back in November 2010, but due to North Korea attacking South Korea, CNR Media pushed back the date to January 20, 2011 to allow Park Jung Min to add more songs to the album. Park Jung Min was also involved in a musical 'Bonds Of Boys' in Japan as an exchange student from 18 November - 23 November. Kim Hyung Jun was in musical 'Cafe-In' in Korea from 24 November 2010 - 23 January 2011 as two characters: Ji Min and Jeong Min. His solo album "Girl" release date is 8 March.
2011: Comeback
Lately, Kim Hyung Jun confirmed in an interview on Sports World that SS501 will be returning in the first half of 2011. “When our individual activities and promotions end, the members of SS501 will reunite in the first half of 2011 with a new album. We will also hold concerts with the album promotions.” ~Hyung Jun
